Standard Subscription to Journal of Conchology (ISSN 0022-0019)

Journal of Conchology Volume 40 part 1 (expected October 2009) and Volume 40 part 2 (expected early 2010). UK addresses £47.00. Overseas addresses £50.00.

Subscription plus Magazine (ISSN 0022-0019 and ISSN 1740-1070)

Journal of Conchology Volume 40 part 1 (expected October 2009) and Volume 40 part 2 (expected early 2010). Also Mollusc World 3 times a year. UK addresses £57.00. Overseas addresses £60.00.

Please note that the Magazine is not available without the Journal.

Institutional Membership

Journal of Conchology Volume 40 part 1 (expected October 2009) and Volume 40 part 2 (expected early 2010). Also Mollusc World 3 times a year. UK addresses £47.00. Overseas addresses £50.00.

Please note that this option gives the institution membership of the Society and is to be considered as a long term commitment. The Journal of Conchology and the magazine Mollusc World are provided as part of this membership, for a price which is equal to the normal subscription rate for just the Journal of Conchology.
Therefore, the restrictions detailed below apply :–

  1. Renewal will be expected until a formal resignation is received. Orders which state ‘for one year only’ are not acceptable for this category .
  2. An invoice will be issued at the start of each year and we will expect payment against this, without the need to quote an annual order number.
  3. Institutional members will be elected into the Society and we must have the name and full postal address of the organisation. These memberships cannot be serviced via PO boxes or agents addresses.
  4. Agents should state clearly on any new order if Institutional Membership is required instead of a normal subscription. A normal subscription will be assumed, if this is not done and also if any of the above conditions are not met.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Journal of Conchology

Each volume of the Journal of Conchology has six parts. This means that it takes three years to complete a volume. The first part of volume 39 was issued in June 2006 and the volume will be complete in December 2008. An annual subscription only pays for 1 years publications (2 issues). The Journal is not available on line.

Rates

Rates include surface postage. Air mail is not offered as an option. There are no discounts for agents. Payment may be sent with the order or purchase orders can be accepted and an invoice issued. Publications will not be despatched until payment is received.

Payment

Our bankers have in the past charged us moderate commission fees to handle payments made direct to our bank account using the IBAN system. However, they have taken to deducting excessive handling charges, apparently randomly, since the economic downturn started to bite — in some cases as much as 20%.
The following methods of payment are available:

  1. Payment by sterling cheque drawn on a UK bank. This method is preferred as it does not involve any charges, BUT the bank MUST be one within the UK.
    Please make sure that the cheque is made out to "The Conchological Society" and not to an officer (e.g. Membership Secretary). Eurocheques are no longer accepted by UK banks and we can no longer accept cheques in Euro, or credit cards (but see below for payment via PayPal and credit cards).
  2. International Money Order or by Western Union. These methods may involve you in meeting additional charges and you are advised to ask about this at the time you make the payment.
