Shell wider than tall
The first thing is to measure it. For details of how to measure, click on the menu item to the left.
The next thing is to count the number of whorls. For details of how to do this, click on the menu item to the left.
Take a note of the measurements and the number of whorls.
If the maximum breadth is less than 8mm. AND the number of whorls is LESS than 3˝, then you probably have a juvenile. If possible, it will be worth looking for a similar specimen which is larger before proceeding further.
