Molluscs are such a morphologically diverse group that defining the unique characteristics that make a mollusc is not easy. However, representatives of the group are found in most habitats across the UK. The Society has embarked on a project to establish an on-line encyclopedia of UK molluscs which includes illustrations, descriptions, and distribution maps.
The initial population of this section of the site has been focused on three groups of marine species:
