Once I am able to establish the status of the VC recording system and bring it up
to date, I propose to place all the VC records on this Website in Excel format so that all regional recorders can check these and update the records further.[Draft Excel VC datasets are available by clicking here] Some VC records have not been re-found for many years and some have never been re-found. Perhaps these could be identified and highlighted as being in need of checking?
Whenever possible, specimens should be collected and submitted for checking either to the National Recorder, or to one of the specialists listed for difficult groups, or to one of the regional recorders, and then forwarded to the National Recorder for inclusion in the Leeds City Museum reference collection, or placed in the collection of an accredited museum with molluscan holdings, and the details forwarded
to the National Recorder.
