The next thing is to count the number of whorls. For details of how to do this, click on the text link.

Take a note of the measurements and the number of whorls.

If the maximum breadth is less than 8mm. AND the number of whorls is LESS than 3½, then you probably have a juvenile. If possible, it will be worth looking for a similar specimen that is larger before proceeding further.
